Piano Student Achievements

  • Gaining admission to music programs at the University of Southern California, the University of Oregon, and Oregon State University, among others

  • Started as a complete adult beginner and developed to the early advanced level of piano repertoire

  • Participating in OMTA (Oregon Music Teachers Association) festivals and competitions

  • Healing emotional wounds relating to the piano from previous teachers

  • Performing a full recital at The Old Church Concert Hall of virtuosic music by Beethoven, Chopin, Nikolai Kapustin, and Couperin

  • Advancing through the OMTA (Oregon Music Teachers Association) Syllabus Exams

  • Learning to read music scores fluently after only playing by ear

  • Learning how to improvise on hymn tunes as a church musician

  • Creating their own local piano teaching studios for young beginning students

  • Went on to do graduate research on the neuroscience of piano playing

 Composition Student Achievements

  • Chosen as All Classical Radio’s 2023 Young Artist in Residence

  • Went on to study music and performance at the Institute of Contemporary Music in London, the University of Oregon, and other schools

  • Participation in summer composition festivals and workshops at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and the Juilliard School of Music

  • Multiple students’ new chamber works workshopped and premiered through the Fear No Music Young Composers Project

  • Multiple students’ new orchestra works premiered by the Metropolitan Youth Symphony

  • Professional student successfully taught an orchestration course as a tenure-track professor of music at a university

  • High-school-aged student founded and managed a local high school chamber series, Pacific Rose Ensemble, that programmed both standard repertoire and new student compositions

  • Participation in masterclasses with visiting composers through Fear No Music and Chamber Music Northwest
